Walking down one of the few walking streets in Hua Hin, on something called Poonsuk Road, you find a large mix of small shops, some sell movies, some sell art and others sells something as unique as custom made glass figurines – Right there on the spot. Everything from bracelets to glass elephants is made here, and if they don’t have it – They will make it – To your exact request.

Imported glass

The materials used for the many different items, are mainly imported as glass rods imported from Germany. From these rods, they are able to bend and shape the glass into every imaginable item, such as glass lions, birds, elephants, ballerinas and much, much more.

From glass rod to art

The process of making a piece of art from a single rod of glass, is not an easy task, and requires a skilled craftsman. Gently shaping the glass over a melting hot gas-flame is a, something as simple as glass rod is turned into something beautiful.

The owner of the store is very careful of how the glass items are packed and shipped. The items are wrapped in bubble plastic and sealed in a wood box, for optimal shipping conditions.

Why glass figurines as a business?

The owner collecting glass items as a small girl, and as she grew older, she saw that others felt the same passion for glass beauty as she did, so why not make a business of it? – For many years, she had a shop in her home, where her staff created wonderful sparkling art of glass tubes, but as so many others, she expanded her business to the ever growing Hua Hin. Currently being the only glass artist store in Hua Hin, this looks like a sure success for the owner.
