Rental car kiosks can be found mainly near the main beach entrance, the alley housing the tourist police station. The rent rates start from 1,000 baht (USD30)/ day. Costs for monthly rents are negotiable and relatively lower. Renters are required to confide their important papers e.g. passports, ID cards, etc with motorbike owners as well.
Non-riders can resort to taxi motorbikes in traveling to any places in Hua Hin. Taxi motorbike hubs dot sidewalks across the city and the fares are reasonable. For example, a ride from the main beach entrance to the Hua Hin Night Bazaar costs up to 30 baht (<USD1). Taxi motorbikes are available around the clock.
The vehicles are also known as “Rot-Song-Taew”. Rot-Song-Taew buses are roofed pickup trucks with two long benches mounted on the rears. The buses pick up passengers at landmarks every 30 minutes. Orange buses run from Hua Hin to the nearby district called Pranburi from 5AM to 5PM while green buses run from Bor Fai to Khao Takiap from 5AM to 8PM. The bus fares are 15 baht and 10 baht (40 cents and less), respectively. View their routes on the map at the bottom of this page.
Though kin to candy-toned Tuk-Tuks typically to Bangkok, Tuk-Tuks in Hua Hin are more sizeable with their rears being expanded for a capacity of 4-6 persons. Mostly catering to visitors on one-day touring, fares of Tuk-Tuks in Hua Hin stand in a relatively high range, starting from 50 baht (<USD2). Major Tuk-Tuks hubs are found in front of the Hua Hin train station, Hua Hin Night Bazaar, Hua Hin Marriott Hotel, the main beach entrance near Sofitel Hotel, and the road opposite to Hua Hin Wittayalai School.
Just like Tuk-Tuks, taxi rides come at high costs and do not make a common way to get around the town for Hua Hin residents. With the comfort and efficiency they provide, cabs are suitable for visitors following their itineraries on a short visit. Renters may choose either automobiles or minivans, considering the number of people in their groups. You can get a taxi vehicle in front of the Hua Hin train station, Hua Hin Night Bazaar, and the main beach entrance near Sofitel Hotel. The fare range starts at 100 baht (USD3)
The quaint engine-free prototype of today’s Tuk-Tuks gives an authentic, vintage feel in traveling a short distance in Hua Hin. The fare range is 50-100 baht (USD1-3). How the vehicle works is as simple as jump on, pedal and go!| All text and pictures found on this website belongs to Hua Hin Online Co., Ltd. - The text and/or pictures cannot be used without written permission from Hua Hin Online. huahin-online.com © 2007 Hua Hin Online Co.,Ltd. |
