“The” golf shop… and more

After five years going strong, Hua Hin’s largest golf gear center has taken the game to another level.

Aside from the beach, it is the world-class golfing scene that fuels the impulse of Hua Hin’s tourism. If the reputation of standard golf courses were like blood, top-notched golf equipments would make such significant elements as healthy blood cells. Over five years, Hua Hin’s chief sport equipment store Sport Connection, which is still widely referred to with its former title “Golf Challenge”, has made a major contribution to the life of Hua Hin’s golfing out of its compact space.

Five years ago, branches of Golf Challenge emerged as a small corner for golf lovers in Outlet Mall. Clothing bargain retail chain Outlet Mall has shops in such major golfing destinations as Cha-am, Pattaya, Khao Yai, and Korat province. Riding on Outlet Mall’s successful locations, Golf Challenge thrived. The golf gear distributor headed straight to the top with the reputation as the most reliable seller of name-branded originals.

The golf gear distributor, which was taken off the ground by only seven people in the beginning, last year took a big step forward. The company merged itself with conglomerate BEC Tero Plc and expanded its product range to cover all sorts of sport equipments and outfits. While the current official name “Sport Connection” perfectly defines the progress, the store is still called by the locals as “Golf Challenge”—the verbal trophy for its firm recognition as the leader of golf shops in Hua Hin.
